The African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) is hosting its Queenstown annual conference in Aliwal North till Sunday. Bishop Silvester Scott Beaman is from Delaware in America. He resides in Cape Town and is assigned to serve as bishop for the 15th Episcopal district.

Beaman is serving as a bishop in Namibia, Angola, Queenstown, Eastern Cape, Kalahari, Cape and Boland conferences.
“The purpose of my visit is to supervise the Queenstown annual conference as this is the second conference I am attending physically.”

The bishop told OFM that last year when he arrived for the conference he was welcomed by heavy rains and thunderstorms and was named Zanemvula “the one who brings rain.”
“It was an exciting experience and a wonderful conference, I am looking forward to being in Aliwal North this weekend.
"I love the singing and the dancing as well as the enthusiasm that we bring to worship,” Beaman said.
