Electricity restored to Senekal post office after three weeks─── ZENANDE MPAME 14:51 Thu, 26 Oct 2023
“The lack of electricity is but one of the many problems experienced by the Post Office in Senekal.”
Electricity was restored at the post office this morning (26/10) after more than two weeks.
The post office was open during this time it did not have electricity, but it was impossible to render any services. Residents of Senekal were struggling for two and a half weeks because of the lack of electricity at the post office, thus hindering them from receiving any services.
This was even worse for SASSA beneficiaries as they could not withdraw their grants during this time.
‘Other residents were also affected’
“The FF Plus is happy that after more than two and a half weeks of being without electricity, the town’s post office electricity has been restored,” said FS social development spokesperson Tamarin Breedt.
Breedt said that other residents were also affected as they could not do their business at the post office.
The restoration of the electricity came just in time for next week Thursday (2/11) when SASSA payments and grants will be paid out.
