More than 500 delegates from various organisations in the energy sector are expected to attend the Indaba on Thursday (2/11).

Among them will be experts, academics, policymakers, and most importantly investors.

“The Free State Energy Security Indaba will reposition our province as a serious participant in the energy space, attract investment, and foster economic growth and development, thus, creating new employment opportunities,” said Mxolisi Dukwana, the Free State Premier.

Among those expected to deliver messages of cooperation and support are the premiers of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Northern Cape, and North West. Ministers, deputy ministers, and members of the two spheres of the Free State Provincial Government will also be in attendance.

The Free State Energy Indaba seeks to position the Free State as an important role player in the energy sector.

 The Indaba will look into relevant matters such as electricity generation, electricity infrastructure improvements, electricity supply and debt management, a billing system, removal of illegal connections, vandalism, and cable theft.
