Some of the residents of Setsoto Municipality in the Free State have been without electricity since last night. This follows an incident where a cable fault occurred yesterday night.

The electricity manager, Wessel De Villiers, said restoration time for the other parts that were without electricity had taken the municipality longer than expected to repair.

‘Electricity is restored to all the affected areas’

"The damage that had occurred was more complex than expected, however, the municipality has attended to the problem as quickly as possible. Piet Retief Street was one of the affected areas."

He further pointed out that currently, electricity is restored to all the affected areas.
