“Today, still, I am going to forge ahead to make sure our tax money is used properly and in the best interest of our people.”

The Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) has announced a former Mangaung pressure group leader as their premier candidate in the Free State for the 2024 general elections.

Potso Motoko was one of the people at the forefront of the total shutdown in Mangaung and also led various service delivery protests in the metro, including holding the government accountable for fraud and corruption.

Party president, Mbahare Kekana, announced the party’s candidate during a media briefing in the Southern Sun Hotel in Bloemfontein on Tuesday (13/2). Motoko welcomed the trust bestowed upon him by the party and outlined some of their mandates going into this year's elections.

“We are looking forward with hope for change. Please take note that I was arrested many times for raising issues affecting our communities. Today, still I am going to forge ahead to make sure our tax money is used properly and in the best interest of our people.”

“As the Premier candidate in the province, allow me to say the Free State shall not be the same again,” Motoko pledged.

He said their main objective was to end poverty and create job opportunities for the marginalised. The party also announced they had joined forces with various political organisations and civic organisations.

“All in all, we have ten civic organisations in the Free State. We have several organisations which are the Solidarity Association, Mangaung Service Delivery Forum, South African Forum of ECDs, and also the Rural Forum. An era of coalition has arrived for parties to stop working in silos because we know the situation has changed,” said Kekana.
