Moreeng back with Protea women─── ADRIAN BOTHA 09:10 Thu, 17 May 2018
The Protea women’s team have welcomed the return of head coach Hilton Moreeng ahead of their 1st T20 International against Bangladesh today following compassionate leave due to the death of his father.
Moreeng, who missed out on his side's 5-0 One Day International whitewash of Bangladesh, returns to the side as they get their three-match T20 International series against the Tigers underway at the Diamond Oval on Thursday.
Although the team is looking forward to the change of format, Moreeng is of the opinion this series of three matches will be vital in sharpening their short format skills set in order to stay ahead of the T20 curve.
"When we look at how T20's are going around the world, I think we need to make sure that, as far as the bat, we become consistent."
"Also, how we can capitalize during the middle period of the game because that is more or less where we felt that the game is stagnating," the coach added.
Thursday's 1st T20 International between the Protea and Bangladesh Women's sides at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley gets underway at 10:00.
