As it stands, the Central franchise is at the bottom of the standings after four rounds, with three defeats and with one match ending in a no-result.

Last week, the Knights lost by 3 wickets to the Cape Cobras and by 14 runs to the Warriors, according to the Duckworth-Lewis method.

The joint interim coach, Werner Coetsee, told OFM Sport that a win is coming soon.

“It was a very close game in Kimberley on Friday night, and I do think that we are going a lot of things right.

“We do have some guys who are playing form, like Keegan Peterson who is playing good cricket. We just need someone to help him out a little bit more.

“We restricted a Warriors to a target which was achievable on a difficult wicket. It wasn’t the best wicket for one-day cricket.

“We were in it for about 75% of the game, but we just lost a couple of wickets at the end of the innings, and weren’t able to get over the line.

“We just need that one win to get us going. That will mean that we need one or two batters to bat well with Keegan Peterson for a bit longer, and guys to seal the game off for us.

“I do feel that it close for us. Are a lot of good things, and on Friday night it was a massive improvement on the game against the Cobras, in which we actually also played quite well.

“We just need to find a way to get over the line.”

The Knights face the current leaders, the Dolphins, on Saturday at Kingsmead.
