The Knights target their first win of the tournament this evening following two draws and two matches ending in a no result due to rain.

The Cobras are the team to beat at the moment as they top the standings with three wins from four.

The Knights feel that they could have beaten the Titans on Sunday had the weather not played a role.

The coach, Alan Kruger, told OFM Sport that they still have a long way to go.

“In Kimberley, we said that if we could restrict the Titans for under 180, it would be a definite chasuble target.

“It looked like we were going to do that, but it was just so unfortunate that the rain came down.

“We have only played in four games, and there are still six to go. The campaign is not finished yet.

“Once we get a fair opportunity and once we get a win in the bank we will be running game, but hopefully this will be sooner, rather than later.”

The coach added that even though that win has been elusive, the mood is still upbeat and the youngsters in the squad have impressed him.

“The squad is still in a very good space and the youngster that have come in are putting their hands up.

“So far Gerald Coetzee has been an inspiration for us. It’s almost like every time he has the ball in his hand something happens.

“I’m very chuffed with the way things are going and also about the future of the Knights.”

This Tuesday evenings game in the Mother City gets underway at 18:00.
