Duminy, who has played international cricket for the past 15 years, is one of several stalwarts of the team who will be calling it a day.

The pressure is on South Africa to win the World Cup for the first time ever, but Duminy told OFM Sport that he feels a sense of freedom heading into the global showpiece.

“Third time lucky as they say. This is my third World Cup, and you obviously would like to end it off on a high note.

“The biggest prize is bringing home that World Cup trophy, but I guess that there is a freedom attached to it because you know where the finish line is.

“You can literally go out there and give it your best and enjoy every single moment of it.

“There will definitely be pressure, there is going to be the biggest intensity around the tournament. There will be big expectations from ourselves and from the general public, and we understand that responsibility.

“I definitely feel a sense of freedom going into to the one, so I am going out there to give it my best.”

The Proteas face England on 30 May at the Oval in London in the opening match of the World Cup.
