Pretorius hopes to be ready for MODC semis─── MORGAN PIEK 15:00 Mon, 18 Jan 2021
The VKB Knights seamer, Migael Pretorius, is hoping to be fit and ready for the semi-finals in the Momentum One-Day Cup.
Pretorius has been out of action since being released from the Proteas squad ahead of the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka earlier this month due to a shoulder injury.
This meant that the star seamer was not a part of the Knights Pool A games at Senwes Park, albeit they only took to the field in one of their four outings.
Pretorius told OFM Sport that his experience in the national setup was a blast and he hopes to be there again in the not too distant future.
“It was an unbelievable experience.
“Obviously I was very happy to be there and be a part of the whole setup. I learnt a lot and luckily I got along with everyone there. I really had a good time.
“I worked on a few small things and I can only hope that I can get to train there again and learn a lot more. I still feel that I have a lot more to learn.
“It’s unfortunate that I got an injury, but that is a part of life and cricket. You have to take it step-by-step.”
Pretorius added that his rehabilitation is going well and he hopes to be available for the semi-finals in a couple of weeks’ time.
“I did come back to Bloemfontein and doing all my rehab and fitness, which is going really well.
“The only thing that I can focus on now is getting ready and if I get the opportunity to play in the One-Day Cup, maybe the semis, be ready for that and just do what the team expects from me.”
Meanwhile, the Pool B games in Potchefstroom starts on Friday morning with the Lions facing the Cape Cobras.
