We've got what it takes - Nortjé─── MORGAN PIEK 15:49 Tue, 29 Jun 2021
The Proteas have their sight set on the lead in the five-match T20 International series against the West Indies.
South Africa and world champions go head-to-head on Tuesday in the third T20 in St George’s.
The Proteas aren’t expected to change their playing 11 following their win during Sunday’s 2nd match.
The hosts in their turn will look to return to winning ways after their convincing 8 wicket win on Saturday.
The Proteas seamer, Anrich Nortjé, says the win on Sunday was a team performance and it was just a reward for the hard work put in.
“It was a great team performance. Everyone chipped in and we're just happy to get over the line after the first game.
“We started off well with the bat though we could’ve gotten more runs at the end.
“Once we picked up some wickets, we got the momentum and I thought George and Shamsi also bowled well.
“They’ve put in a lot of effort and it's nice to finally get the rewards, they've been with the team since the Tests. It's nice to see their hard work pay off.
The fast bowler added that while there is still a way to go in the series they can claim victory, but it will be down to the execution.
“We're excited for the win, but we still have a lot of homework to do on what can we improve on. I do think we've got what it takes.
“It's just going to be on how we go about our things and how well we play and execute. It's a good challenge.”
Play in Grenada is set to get underway at 20:00 on Tuesday night.
