The destructive Proteas batman, Quinton de Kock, has broken into the top 10 of the ICC’s rankings for T20 batsman for the first time in his career.
De Kock blasted 153 runs against Sri Lanka during the three-match T20 International series in Colombo and this led to him moving up to 8th.
In his last ten outings for the Proteas, De Kock has scored 455 runs at an average of 56.88.
His contribution with the bat against Sri Lanka saw him earning the Player of the Series accolade.
The Proteas coach, Mark Boucher, told OFM Sport that De Kock is a big name heading into the World Cup.
“Quinny went through a bit of a tough time after the Pakistan tour, but since coming in he has been fantastic in the team environment.
“You can't keep a player like that down for too long. He has been in a very happy space.
“He is a big name going into the World Cup so him being in the form that he is, is good.”
De Kock has a highest ODI ranking of 3rd and 6th in Test cricket.
