The Titans had a bat first in the quarter-final at the Diamond Oval and scored 192/5 in their allotted 20 overs with Donovan Ferreira scoring 55 not out, while the former Knights captain, Theunis de Bruyn, scored 48.

The SWD seamer, Hershell America, was the star with the ball in the innings with 3/32 in his allotted four overs.

Despite a strong start with the bat by Leus du Plooy with 55 and Hanno Kotze with 24, SWD, were bowled out for 138 in 17.1 overs.

The Titans skipper, Aaron Phangiso, changed the tide of the match with his outstanding spell of spin bowling with 2/18 in three overs. This was also enough to earn him the bowler of the match accolade.

Phangiso lauded his team character, especially while they were under pressure.

“The boys played well, but there are stages of the match where we can improve, especially in the beginning.

“But if you've got guys that can finish like Donovan it's happy days.

“It gives us confidence because we were a bit down after the bowlers got a bit of a tapping. How they bounced back, the belief, the team spirit and the fighting together was amazing.

“That is what is going to take us forward.”

The Titans will face the winner between the Dolphins and Warriors in the semi-finals of Thursday.
