While the Proteas lost by five-wickets on Saturday, they nearly defended their low total of 118 runs.

Earlier in the year, the Proteas toured the Caribbean and beat the reigning world champions on their home turf for the first of three away series wins.

The Proteas seamer, Kagiso Rabada, told OFM Sport that they know what is required of them.

“We've analysed what we have needed to do and the guys are on it at the training ground.

“Whenever you do have to defend a low total, especially on a big platform like the World Cup, you are always going to give it your all.

“We came with a lot of intensity and we are going to look to do more of the same with our bowling and with our batting too.”

The strike bowler added that they are in Dubai to win the World Cup and that remains the end goal.

“Anything can happen and I guess that at the end of the day it's not really about overthinking. This is a big platform.

“It's just another game of cricket, however, we need to rock up with proper intensity and play close to our best.

“That's what we are here to do. We are here to win the World Cup. Otherwise, why else would we be here?”

Tuesday afternoon’s game at the Dubai Sports City gets underway at 12:00.
