The Proteas will be banking on their form of the tour to the West Indies earlier in the year as they prepare to welcome India to South Africa.

The Proteas and India will battle it out in a three-Test series that will start on Boxing Day.

Quinton de Kock was the star with the bat for South Africa in the Windies, but it was the bowling department that won the series for the Proteas.

The Proteas seamer, Lungi Ngidi, said they want to build on the momentum from that series.

“We will still face New Zealand and England next year, so we are up against some good cricketing nations.

“If we could get off to a good start against India, we can just keep that momentum going.

“We had a good series in the West Indies. The processes that we are following now are really up putting us in a good position to compete in this Test championship.

“It's definitely one of those tours you want to get off to a good start with.”

The 1st Test between South Africa and India at SuperSport Park gets underway on 26 December.
