Boucher heading set for May─── MORGAN PIEK 08:47 Wed, 02 Feb 2022
Cricket South Africa has confirmed that the disciplinary hearing against the national men’s coach, Mark Boucher, will be taking place in May.
This comes as the Proteas are set to depart for New Zealand for the series of two Tests against the Black Caps.
Following the tour to the Land of the Long White Cloud, Bangladesh is set to tour South Africa.
Boucher will still be in charge of these two series, and he has after for the hearing to be postponed.
This is after he is planning to call in current players to testify in his defence.
Senior Counsel Advocate Terry Motau agreed that this will be too disruptive and granted the postponement.
“Having considered both arguments, I agree with arguments advanced on behalf of Mr Boucher and I have decided to postpone the matter for the hearing to be held in the week commencing 16 to 20 May 2022.”
It is unknown which players Boucher will have testify at the hearing.
Boucher is contracted as the national men’s coach until after the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
