The Proteas aren’t expected to ticker too much with their playing XI for 2nd Test against Bangladesh that gets underway on Friday morning in Gqeberha.

The Proteas captain, Dean Elgar, hinted that an unchanged team can be fielded for the Test and they target a series clean sweep.

In Durban the spin-twins, Keshav Maharaj and Simon Harmer, played a massive role in the Proteas winning the 1st Test by 220 runs.

Maharaj and Harmer took all ten wickets during the Bangladesh second innings as they were bowled out for a meagre 53-runs. Elgar opted not to use any seamers in that innings and it was the first time that just two bowlers were used in an innings by the Proteas.

Harmer of course started his career at the Warriors and thus also knows the conditions in the Windy City like the back of his hand.

Elgar said that the conditions at St George’s could be the same.

“If you want to have a bit of consistency and a bit of success in the Test arena or in international cricket you've got to keep some sort of consistency going.

“Playing in PE, the conditions are pretty much what we expect and what we had in Durban.

“Viewing the wicket that they've prepared does almost say that we might go in with the same kind of structure going forward.”

Play in the Friendly City is scheduled to get underway at 10:00.
