The Proteas Women’s captain, Suné Luus, and star fast bowler, Shabnim Ismail, will be fit and ready for the Commonwealth Games.

The pair were rested last night during the third and final T20 International against England that was played in Derby.

Luus wasn’t played as she was unwell, while the fiery Ismail was struggling with a back niggle.

The Proteas coach, Hilton Moreeng, confirmed that the duo will be ready to play.

“It's a precaution from medical to make sure they are 100 percent for that game and ready for the first game. Yes, they'll be 100 percent.

“She's recovering very well, Suné, and she will definitely be able to bowl, yes.”

The Proteas will have to make do without the seasoned all-rounder, Marizanne Kapp, who is unavailable for the quadrennial event due to family commitments.

South Africa will face New Zealand at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday in their first match of the Commonwealth Games.
