Rossouw makes a welcome return to the national side after being in the international wilderness for the past six years.

The destructive left-handed Knights batter has been in destructive form of late as could give the batting lineup a significant boost.

Miller, who played with Rossouw for the Knights and Proteas said he will be an asset to the team.

“It's great to have him back, I started my career with Rilee. We welcome him all the way and we're right behind him.

“He's played in different leagues all around the world and has immense experience. It's nice to have him in these conditions. He's going to be a great asset and we're hoping he has a cracking series.

“He's got a good head on his shoulders and he's a match-winner.

“Rilee’s become a lot stronger. But, in the end, it's mainly his experience that's been added to his already established game. He’s a great guy to have part of the team.

“He just takes things in his stride and is very relaxed.

“You want guys like that in your setup, fiery characters when they walk onto the field because they ignite the competitive fires. I'm personally looking really forward to working with him and playing alongside him again.”

Play between England and South Africa in the first T20 International gets underway at 19:30 on Wednesday night.
