The teams will battle it out in preparation for the 2022/23 domestic cricket season that will officially be getting underway next month.

The Heat will look to earn promotion to Division 1, while the Knights in their turn will seek to retain their place in the top-flight of domestic cricket.

The 2022/23 domestic season will get underway in Potchefstroom in October with a T20 tournament featuring the eight Division 1 teams. This fixtures will be confirmed on Friday.

The Knights seamer, Gerald Coetzee, who was in England recently with the Proteas told OFM Sport that they are eager to get out in the middle.

“We've been fine-tuning for the last few weeks and we are very eager for that first test run”, said the young fast bowler.

“Northern Cape has played some very good cricket for the past season and I think that it's going to be good and competitive.

“It's going to be a good indication to see where we are, although we've got a bit of time left before the season.

“Whichever way it goes - it will be good for us before the season starts in Potchefstroom.”

All of the warm-up games will be played at the Diamond Oval.
