Dragons keen to make home-ground advantage count─── MORGAN PIEK 07:43 Thu, 15 Sep 2022
The North West Dragons will be wanting to make the most of their home-ground advantage in the T20 Challenge that will be played in Potchefstroom next month.
Cricket South Africa confirmed that the 2022/23 season will start in Potchefstroom with the T20 tournament that will feature the eight Division 1 teams.
With it being a promotion-relegation year there will be no dead-rubbers in the season and the Dragons will want to get off to a flyer.
The Dragons coach, Craig Alexander, told OFM Sport they want to make use of their own conditions.
“It's nice to have the T20 Challenge here in Potchefstroom at the JB Marks Oval,” said the former seamer.
“I know what we will definitely try to use a lot our experience of the wicket and try to be really specific in our training and gear towards being the home team.
“I know that the crowd will get behind us and that is something that we will also definitely use as a benefit to our team.”
The Dragons will face the Lions at 18:00 on 17 October at the JB Marks Oval.
