On Sunday the Knights claimed their first win of the campaign by beating the Warriors by five-wickets at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

This was due to an outstanding 66 not out by the batter, Patrick Botha, who also scored 45-runs during the heavy defeat to Western Province a few days earlier.

Botha told OFM Spot that their win against the Warriors is a show of the team's character.

“The win over the Warriors was a big win for us as a group after the last few performances, said the allrounder.

“The nice thing is that we have stuck together as a group even though we haven't done as well as we've wanted to.

“This performance against the Warriors has showed the character of the guys coming through.

“On a personal level I have been working hard and I've been looking to take more responsibility as a batter and in performances as a player in all.

“It was nice to get a performance like that and help the team to get a win.”

Wednesday’s match between the Knights and Rocks in Bloemfontein is scheduled to get underway at 13:00.
