The lanky Proteas seamer, Marco Jansen, has been included in the national team for the first two One-Day Internationals against the West Indies that starts in East London on Thursday.
The former Knights left-arm quick was initially not included in the squad's first two games, but named in the team for the 3rd ODI that will be played in his hometown, Potchefstroom.
The Proteas have a few players in their squad for the two who aren't available to play on Thursday.
The seamer, Sisanda Magala, who was the player of the match during the first ODI against England in Bloemfontein is out of action after splitting the finger webbing on his right hand.
In addition, the all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo is suffering from lower back spasms and is doubtful.
Wayne Parnell, who was brought into the squad as cover for the injured Wiaan Mulder was feeling ill, but trained on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, the Proteas captain, Temba Bavuma, said a few players will be on debut this week.
“The new guys were added to the squad and they were a part of our plans since before the Test series, said Bavuma.
“It's great that they have done well in the Test series, and I think for them to carry on with that form and confidence will be important when that opportunity comes in the One-Day side.
“You can expect a couple of debutants and some new faces playing.”
Thursday's 1st ODI at Buffalo Park will get under way at 13:00.
