The Itec Knights have their eyes set on the Division 2 CSA One-Day Cup trophy as they clash against the SA Emerging side in the Final on Fridayat the Mangaung Oval.

Having won seven out of seven in the One-Day Cup campaign, JP Triegaardt’s chargers will be looking to add the cherry on top by winning the final on Friday and cementing that top spot on their quest to gain promotion back to Division 1.

This week the team saw the return of four senior players in Jacques Snyman, Gihahn Cloete, Clayton Bosch and Tiaan Van Vuuren who were all sidelined by injuries.

Jacques Snyman, who has the second most runs in the competition with 2 centuries and a half century is eager to make his return and join fellow opener and leading run scorer in the One-Day Cup Garnett Tarr.

“The team is in an incredibly good space. The new guys that have come in have showed their worth and its clear that we all have one vision which is to win the One-Day Cup Final at home,” said Snyman.

“Its good to be back at training after being struck on the helmet against the Limpopo Impalas, and as scary as it was, it motivated me to come back stronger and do my best for the team.”

"I was impressed by how the boys played against the Northern Cape Heat and to witness Garnett lead from the front with an exceptional knock against a good bowling attack.”

“Playing in any final has its challenges and even though we have not lost a fixture in the One-Day Cup we definitely don’t want our first loss to be in a final,” said the coach JP Triegaardt.

"Our main goal is to see the Itec Knights back in Division one, but that is not going to be handed to us on a silver platter, yet we believe if we take it game by game and give a 100% on the field, we will get there.”
