“I've played there once or twice and it was pretty bouncy when I was there. I'm expecting it to be pretty bouncy, but we have a very exciting pace attack, so hopefully we can use that to our advantage as well.”

The Proteas Women believe that the pitch in Perth will suit them for the once-off Test against Australia.

South Africa and Australia will face each other from Thursday for the very first time in the longest format of the game, while for the Proteas it will only be their third Test after previously facing India and England.

While the Australians are much more experienced in Test cricket, South Africa, are targeting an upset with a first win in the format.

The Proteas captain, Laura Wolvaardt, said the pitch will suit their pace attack, especially with the youngsters, Ayanda Hlubi and Eliz-Mari Marx bringing some new and exciting energy to the seam department.

“We're very excited with what they have brought to the team, and I think that Ayanda Hlubi was brilliant and so was Eliz-Mari Marx,” said Wolvaardt.

“It's just cool and young energy, and I think that they are bowling nice and quick as well with good carry. It's very exciting and I think they will definitely be options for the Test.
