Namibia will be targeting back-to-back wins at the ICC T20 World Cup when they face Scotland on Thursday in Barbados.

On Sunday, the Namibians opened their campaign with a Super Over win against Oman, while Scotland's first game against England was declared a no result.

The win on Sunday gave the associate team a tremendous amount of confidence heading into the game against the Scots.

The Namibian seamer, Ruben Trumpelmann, said in the context of the World Cup this is a huge game for them.

“Yeah, Scotland's a great side as I mentioned and I think we're excited to play them,” said the seamer.

“I think we're quite an evenly matched side. I think all three associates in this group can give each other a go and yeah, they've got two match winners up front with the bat and with the ball as well - so we're licking our lips for a great contest and some bragging rights between the associate guys.

“Yeah, 100%. That's definitely one of the key requirements for us to give us a chance to qualify.

“The qualification to the Super 8 also means qualification to the next World Cup, which is also a big factor.

“We are not taking this lightly. We as a team want to go forward, we want to be competitive, we've beaten members and we don't want to stop here. We're excited, we're ready to rumble and our prep's done, we're ready to go.”

Thursday’s clash between Namibia and Scotland at the Kensington Oval gets underway at 21:00.
