Following his breakthrough victory on the PGA tour in the United States on Sunday, South African Dylan Frittelli has risen from 133 to 92nd (up 41 spots) in the latest World Golf Rankings.
Frittelli shot a final round seven-under 64 to win at the John Deere by two shots in Illinois. His 21-under total was two ahead of his nearest challenger - American Russell Henley. For his efforts, Frittelli won 1,080,000 US dollars, which is a whopping R15 061 741.
He also gate-crashed The Open Championship, and also earned invitations to next year’s US Masters and The Players Championship, among other select events.
SA now have five golfers in top-100 with Louis Oosthuizen the highest-placed at 22.
Justin Harding had dropped from 48 to 50 while Branden Grace went from 65 to 67 this week. Erik van Rooyen has improved from 89 to 84.
