Since 1988, Reach For A Dream has been helping children experience those dreams – from meeting their heroes to receiving a special gift or enjoying a new experience.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Heidi Rowley, head of fundraising at Reach For A Dream, is encouraging Bloemfontein businesses and golf enthusiasts to get involved in the annual Reach For A Dream Golf Day.

The event takes place on Thursday, 5 November, at Schoeman Park Golf Club. Entry is R4,500 per four-ball, including a golf cart. Players can look forward to a halfway-house lunch, golf shirt, and a prize-giving dinner with a raffle and auction. The format is a 4-Ball Alliance Stableford, with two scores to count, and the shotgun start is at 12:00.

Businesses can also get involved through interactive hole sponsorship opportunities for R1,500, which include branding opportunities, networking with other sponsors and recognition on the sponsorship board.

Rowley joins Yolanda Maartens to chat about the golf day and the important work Reach For A Dream is doing to bring hope to children and families across the Free State and Northern Cape.

And if you can’t make the golf day, there is another way to support the foundation. The 2026 Dream Raffle was just launched, with tickets costing R200 and some incredible prizes up for grabs – including a brand-new Jetour T2 Plus, a seven-day Mediterranean cruise for two, and a Philips Series 5500 fully automatic espresso machine with a coffee hamper and free coffee for a year.
