Illegal DVDs worth R6.8 million will be destroyed by the film and publications board in Durban. The DVDs contain mainly unclassified material, illegal pornographic content, or had been abandoned in customs. They will be destroyed at the Springfield Dumping Ground on Wednesday. The board says the DVDs were confiscated and abandoned by vendors and distributors during raids. DVDs and publications have to be classified by the board and should carry age ratings and notification details warning viewers with regards to age-restrictions and other classifiable elements such as violence, language, sex, nudity and blasphemy.
