Van Schalkwyk to take the reins at Suidwes Landbou─── SABRINA DEAN 18:55 Tue, 08 Mar 2016
Leeudoringstad - Well-known agriculture expert, Herman van Schalkwyk, is leaving the realms of academia to head up the Central South Africa-based agri business, Suidwes Landbou.
Van Schalkwyk was rector of North West University’s Potchefstroom Campus until last year and previously also served as Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Free State.
He also served as Managing Director of Aginfo, which provides agricultural information and advice to the agriculture sector.
Suidwes said in a statement it is looking forward to welcoming Van Schalkwyk as the new Group CEO from April 1.
Chairperson Hansie Viljoen said they are hopeful that the group will go from strength to strength under the leadership of Van Schalkwyk.
