NC farmers suffer during drought─── 14:32 Tue, 18 Jul 2017
The continuing drought in large parts of the Northern Cape has left more than 2 000 farmers down and out.
Henning Myburgh, chief executive officer of Agri Northern Cape, says the farmers who are mostly sheep farmers, have reduced their stock and some just have a few prime sheep left to build their flock in the future.
Myburgh also says the winter season is the rain season for this province, and those in the western part of the Northern Cape, where the drought is the severest, still hope for some rain to come.
Agri Northern Cape says donations of animal feed or cash will be most appreciated. For more info call Agri Northern Cape at 053-832-9595.
