According to disaster management intervention spokesperson, Qondile Khedema, the South African Weather Service issued a level 2 impact-based warning of troublesome rain in the Mangaung Metro as well as other parts of the province.

He adds that rainfall of 10mm and 20mm may be expected throughout the day while only 5mm -10mm of rainfall is needed to kick-start flooding.

Furthermore, he pleads that all households make pathways to allow water to flow out of their yards.
