Top Ten Cheap Valentine's Day Date Ideas─── 09:00 Fri, 13 Feb 2015
Valentine's Day doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. If your pockets are running dry, fear not, you can still have a great Valentine's Day on a budget.
1.Test drive a car
Girls love cars and so do men. It’s a great way to have fun and it will probably not cost you a dime. Perhaps make the entire day a “test drive a car” day – try different models (of cars). 2.Have a braai
There’s something about fire we South Africans love. Buy a bottle of champagne, toss a salad together and voila – eat, pray, love!
3.Find live music
Listen to a band somewhere, have a drink or two and just enjoy the feeling of experiencing the music with your significant other.
4.Play strip poker
It won’t cost you a thing and if you’ve been together long enough - it’ll definitely spice things up.
5.Watch some movies
Either rent some you both have seen and loved, or new ones. Make it a marathon, have something to drink and get take-aways if you’re not in the mood to cook.
6.Return the massage
If you’re reading this you probably don’t want to spend R500 – R1000 for a couple’s massage. Buy Arnica oil (it’s great for sore muscles), or any other oil and spoil him/her with a massage. If you want to make it a bit more intimate… let your imagination run wild!
7.Go dancing
Go to all your favourite places; pull off your most insane dance moves. Or, if you have time and a bit of cash go for a dance lesson.
8.Do what you did the first time
You’ll stand out as a very romantic man/woman if you do this. Hopefully you didn’t spend too much money the first time. It’s a special way of saying “I still love you like I did then”.
9.Watch the sunset/sunrise
You don’t need the champagne, but everything adds up. Go to a great spot and enjoy either the sunrise or sunset. If it’s cloudy, go to the spot anyway and tell him/her how much you love her/him.
10.Take a bath together
Light some candles and have some wine that’s already been in your house, or anything else you’d like to drink. Bonus: You don’t have to get dressed and might even save a washing cycle.
