The Free State Crinums made their intentions of chasing down a 4th Brutal Fruit Premier League title down clear over the weekend after recording 2 emphatic victories in Johannesburg.

The Crinums kicked off their campaign on Friday when they faced the Mpumalanga Sunbirds in their campaign opener.

It was fairly straight forward stuff for the Free Staters who quickly built up and maintained a lead over the Sunbirds who could never seem to get going.

In the end, Burta de Kock's girls thrashed their opposition by 46-25 at the Ellis Park Indoor Arena.

With a win in the bag, the three-time champions shifted their focus to Saturday's match against the Limpopo Baobabs.

Although the challenge from the Baobabs proved to be tougher than that of the Sunbirds a day before, the Crinums once again asserted their dominance throughout the encounter.

Maryke Coetzee led her team to another convincing 68-46 win over their Limpopo counterparts.

The two wins put the Crinums 4th on the Netball Premier League table by virtue of goal difference following back to back wins by the Gauteng Golden Fireballs in 3rd, the KZN Kingdom Stars in 2nd and defending champions, the Gauteng Jaguars leading the pack.

The next round of the 2018 Netball Premier League will take place this coming weekend at the same Ellis Park Indoor Arena venue.
