A record 5th FINA Swimming World Cup series title will be in the cross-hairs of South African swimming star Chad le Clos when he takes to the waters of the Kazan Aquatics Palace this weekend.

Following series wins in 2011, 2013 and 2014, Le Clos became the first men's swimmer to win four overall series titles when he claimed the honors yet again last year.

Consistency will be of paramount importance as the series is decided over the course of seven gala meets between now and November.

Another target the 26-year-old World and Commonwealth Games champion is almost certain of reaching, is the 200 medal mark in the World Cup series.

Le Clos earned himself a total of 32 medals in the 2017 series, bagging 22 gold, nine silver and a bronze for a total of 195 medals to date,

The FINA Swimming World Cup series gets underway on Friday morning in the Russian city of Kazan.
