It's frustrating - Nienaber─── MORGAN PIEK 07:37 Mon, 29 Aug 2022
The Springboks inability to convert their opportunities is a cause for concern heading into the second Rugby Championship Test against the Wallabies in Australia.
On the weekend, the Wallabies outplayed the Springboks in every aspect of the game - while there were some debatable refereeing decisions - for a 25-17 win in Adelaide
The Springboks have now lost three of their six Tests to date this year.
If the World Champions are to win the Rugby Championship, they will need to beat Australia in Sydney this week.
Springbok coach, Jacques Nienaber, concedes that not converting is frustrating.
“Hats off to Australia, I thought their defence was good, and we didn't capitalise and that is frustrating.
“We're all emotional now, so we'll have to have a good look and see why.
“We were camped in their 22 at the end of the first half and we just didn't get any conversion of points.
“The beauty of rugby is that you've got seven days and then you get another opportunity. We'll take our lessons, have a good look at the game, and then change a couple of things if we have to.
“We got some answers today and the key thing is to put those answers into momentum for next weekend.”
Saturday’s Test between the Wallabies and Springboks at the Allianz Stadium kicks off at 11:35.
