Binotto quits as Ferrari team principle─── MORGAN PIEK 11:21 Tue, 29 Nov 2022
The under-fire Mattia Binotto has officially resigned as the team principle of the Formula 1 team, Ferrari. Binotto was at the helm of the world famous manufacturer since 2019.
After a strong start to the recently concluded 2022 season, Ferrari, failed claim a win on the final eleven Grand Prix races of the season.
Charles Leclerc did however manage to end the season as the runner-up to the now two-time champion, Max Verstappen, of Red Bull.
Binotto confirmed that he will be bidding farewell to the team after being involved with the company for the past 28-years.
“With the regret that this entails, I have decided to conclude my collaboration with Ferrari,” said Binotto.
“I am leaving a company that I love, which I have been part of for 28-years, with the serenity that comes from the conviction that I have made every effort to achieve the objectives set.
“I leave a united and growing team. A strong team, ready, I’m sure, to achieve the highest goals, to which I wish all the best for the future. I think it is right to take this step at this time as hard as this decision has been for me.
“I would like to thank all the people at the Gestione Sportiva who have shared this journey with me, made up of difficulties but also of great satisfaction.”
Binotto will leave the team on 31 December.
