White geared for the Temple of Speed─── MORGAN PIEK 09:35 Thu, 22 Jun 2023
Speedster Stuart White of Bloemfontein will be in action again this weekend during round two of the Italian GT Championship in Italy, and he will be looking to continue with his early season momentum in Europe.
This week White will be racing at the iconic Monza for his Swiss-based AF Corse and Emil Frey Academy team in the Ferrari 488 GT3, along with Jean-Luc D'Auria of Switzerland.
White takes a lot of confidence into the second round after they managed to win Race 2 of the opening round at Misano back in May.
White told Bloemfontein Courant that they have good confidence and momentum going into the weekend.
"Round two of the Italian GT Championship will be taking place at the Temple of Speed, Monza, in Italy this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it," said White.
"It's been a strong year so far with AF Corse and the Emil Frey Academy. We're coming off a win in round one at Misano and the momentum is definitely on our side. Also, in testing we've shown some really good pace at Monza, both myself and my teammate Jean-Luc.
"It's going to be a very important race for the championship, one where we will look to maximise as much as possible, but we also have to keep our noses clean and think about the long run. It's going to be an important weekend and we will take it day by day.
"We are looking forward to it and we are fortunate to be racing again."
Race 1 at the Temple of Speed gets underway at 16:05 on Saturday afternoon and Race 2 will start at 15:20 on Sunday afternoon.
