The Crinums enjoyed a rest day on Wednesday while the Stings stunned the much more fancied Golden Fireballs with a 54-38 win.

The World Cup-bound Proteas player from the Crinums, Lefébre Rademan, told OFM Sport that the rest day was much needed and they will be ready and fresh for their semi-final.

“We finished all of our pool games and we had a rest day on Wednesday,” said Rademan.

“The rest day was much needed and we were very grateful for that. Thursday will be our semi-final and we are really looking forward to it.

“The girls are in a good space and I know that we are going to do well.”

The captain of the Stings, Nicole Taljaard in turn said they got a lot of confidence from the win against the Fireballs and they are ready to take on the Crinums.

“We just need to play clinical netball and I know that player for player our team is strong enough to play it,” said Taljaard.

“I overheard one of their players saying that they are looking forward to playing in the semis against us because we're an easy semi.

“So, good luck to them! We'll show them what we were able to do against the Fireballs. I think if we can put in a repeat performance, then we shouldn't be such an easy semi.

This Division 1 semi-final gets underway at 16:00. At 18:00 the Fireballs will take on the Jaguars in a Gauteng derby.

Meanwhile, in the Division 2 semi-finals, the Limpopo Baobabs face the Northern Cape Diamonds at 12:00 and at 14:00 the Tornados are up against the Sunbirds.

At 10:00 the Free State Sonoblomo will face the Limpopo Lilies in the 7th/8th place playoff.
