The campaign aims to raise R200 000 in cash donations to assist NGOs in providing blankets and food to older persons and children, who are among those most affected by the harsh winter cold.

Donations can be made via ofmbigcoverup.co.za. Only cash donations will be accepted, with a minimum contribution of R100. Please note that no blanket or food donations will be collected.

“The need for blankets and warm clothing increases every year. Together we can make a difference in the lives of children and the elderly who need it most. The Big Cover up is not just aimed to cover Central South Africa with blankets, but to also warm the hearts of those who will be receiving the donations,’’ says OFM sales and marketing manager Anchen Lintvelt.

In collaboration with Round Table Southern Africa, OFM will identify NGOs within local communities through regional Round Tables. These partner organisations will ensure that funds are used to purchase and distribute essential winter relief where it is needed most.

“For the second year, we have the opportunity to raise funds for people in our communities who need support during the winter months. The people of Central South Africa have hearts of gold, and every contribution made towards this initiative is incredibly meaningful to all of us,” says OFM CEO Nick Efstathiou.

Milk-tart mania swept through the region during our “melktert meesters” fun – leaving shelves bare, and on Heritage Day, our audience settled the braaibroodjie debate – traditional wins. And OFM CLOSET, the home of the famous “bakkie arm,” brings playfulness to life with punchy slogan merchandise.

OFM bied weer The BIG Cover Up aan

Sentraal-Suid-Afrika se Klank van Jou Lewe, OFM, is trots om die terugkeer van hul winterkombers-inisiatief, The BIG Cover Up, vir die tweede agtereenvolgende jaar aan te kondig.

Luisteraars en ondernemings word aangemoedig om op Woensdag 3 Junie 2026 van 06:00 tot 18:00 in te skakel en ’n bydrae te maak. Die veldtog is daarop gemik om

R200 000 in kontant-skenkings in te samel om NRO’s te help om komberse en kos te verskaf aan ouer persone en kinders, wat onder diegene is wat die meeste deur die strawwe winterkoue geraak word.

Skenkings kan gedoen word by ofmbigcoverup.co.za. Slegs kontant-skenkings sal aanvaar word, met ’n minimum bydrae van R100. Let asseblief daarop dat geen kombers- of kosskenkings ingesamel sal word nie.

“Die behoefte aan komberse en warm klere neem jaarliks toe. Saam kan ons ’n werklike verskil maak in die lewe van kinders en bejaardes wat dit die nodigste het. The Big Cover Up gaan nie net daaroor om Sentraal-Suid-Afrika met komberse warm te hou nie, maar ook om hoop en omgee te bring aan elke mens wat hierdie skenkings ontvang,” sê Anchen Lintvelt, verkoop- en bemarkingsbestuurder van OFM.

In samewerking met Tafelronde Suider-Afrika, sal OFM NRO’s in plaaslike gemeenskappe identifiseer met die hulp van streeks-Tafelrondes. Hierdie vennoot-organisasies sal verseker dat fondse gebruik word om noodsaaklike winterhulpmiddele aan te koop en te versprei waar dit die nodigste is.

“Vir die tweede jaar het ons die geleentheid om fondse in te samel vir mense in ons gemeenskappe wat ondersteuning gedurende die wintermaande nodig het. Die mense van Sentraal-Suid-Afrika het harte van goud, en elke bydrae wat vir hierdie inisiatief gemaak word, is ongelooflik betekenisvol vir ons almal,” sê Nick Efstathiou, uitvoerende hoof van OFM.

Wie is OFM?

Ons kom hulle teë waar hulle ook al is, wanneer aanhangers van OFM ons vloot geel voertuie opgewonde begroet tydens aktiverings en buite-uitsendings dwarsoor ons gebied.

Hier waar samesyn ’n mens se lewensgehalte bepaal, is “samehorigheid” nie net ’n woord nie, dis ’n lewenswyse. As die nood druk, bring Sentraal-Suid-Afrikaners hul kant. In Oktober het ons luisteraars R1,2 miljoen vir Kansa help insamel. Tydens ’n eendaagse radiothon in Julie is R300 000 ingesamel om kinders en bejaardes teen die winterkoue te help pantser.

Ons vier ook die ligter sy. Melktertkoors het die streek beetgepak tydens ons prettige Melktertmeesters, en op Erfenisdag het ons gehoor die braaibroodjiegeskil besleg: tradisioneel kraai koning. Intussen maak OFM CLOSET, die tuiste van die bekende bakkie-arm, die lewe pret met pittige slagspreuke op alles van sokkies tot T-hemde.

As Sentraal-Suid-Afrika se voorste handelsradiostasie bied OFM nie net vermaak nie, maar ook belangrike inligting vir die alledaagse lewe en sakewêreld.

Landbou is die ruggraat van ons streek. Produkte van wêreldgehalte – soos lams- en beesvleis, druiwe, kersies en neute – word in alle uithoeke van die wêreld geniet. Die landboubedryf is ons hartklop. Ons weet wanneer die reën wegbly, wanneer siektes die waardeketting benadeel en wanneer produsente hulp nodig het. Ons het selfs ’n boer gehelp om “in groen na goud te reik” met ’n nuwe John Deere-trekker.
