The Springboks kick-off their season this week when they tackle the Wallabies on Saturday in Johannesburg.

The Boks have been in camp for the past couple of weeks leading into their Rugby Championship opener against the team from Down-under.

The coach Rassie Erasmus has already dropped a few hints as to his team selections for this week, however, with just four Tests before the World Cup, it is unlikely that there will be drastic changes.

At this start Pieter-Steph du Toit, Francois Louw and Rynhardt Elstadt are expected to start in the loose trio against the Wallabies, with Marcell Coetzee on the bench. Next week Du Toit will more than like form the back-row with Duane Vermeulen and Kwagga Smith for the big clash against the All Blacks in Wellington.

Erasmus added that it is imperative to do well in the Championship.

“You cannot lose a match here, build it up and say that we are working towards the World Cup, or judge during the World Cup.

“You have to do well in the Rugby Championship while you are seeing it as it builds up towards the World Cup.

“It is a continuous process, but you have to kind of isolate and doing when in the Rugby Championship.

“While saying that, you want to win the Rugby Championship and build towards the World Cup, but you cannot also totally isolate the two either.”

Erasmus is set to announce his side for the Test on Wednesday afternoon.

Saturday’s Test at Ellis Park kicks off at 17:05.
