The head coach, Allen Clarke, has left his role at the club following their poor start to the 2019/20 season.

The former Irish international hooker was appointed in the role on a three-year contract in April 2018.

Before that, he was the forwards coach of the team under Steve Tandy. He was then appointed as the interim coach following the departure of Tandy, before signing a contract as the head coach.

Recently Matt Sherratt announced that he would be leaving his job as the backline coach at the end of the current campaign.

After six games in the PRO14 the Ospreys are sixth in Conference A win just a single win in the campaign to date.

At the beginning of November, the Ospreys were beaten 16-14 by the Southern Kings at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea, in conditions which should have suited the Welsh outfit. Many regard the defeat as the lowest points in Ospreys rugby in recent history.

The Ospreys did have numerous players away on international duty for Wales at the Rugby World Cup in Japan, and it remains to be seen which of these players will be available this week.

This comes as Wales will face the Barbarians in an international friendly at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday.

The Cheetahs meanwhile fly out to Wales on Wednesday ahead of the clash which will be their final match of the season.

Saturday’s PRO14 clash between the Ospreys and Cheetahs at The Gnoll in Neath kicks off at 21:35 (South African time).
