In their two most recent performances, the side from the Lowveld was victorious, but following their win over the EP Elephants last week the Griquas want to build on that.

While they did beat EP 43-0, the Griquas captain, Stefan Ungerer, told OFM Sport that they left a lot of points on the park.

“We know that we left a couple of points out on the park with missed opportunities. It's just leading down to a bit of execution and how clinical we were in the right areas of the field.

“The Pumas will be a step up from the EP game, so we know we'll have to execute a lot better and take those points when they are on offer.”

Meanwhile, the Griquas are sweating over the fitness of their flyhalf, Tinus de Beer. The former SA U20 pivot is battling with a hamstring niggle and may miss out on the game.

As it is the first choice flyhalf, George Whitehead, is on the injury list for up to eight weeks after he broke his collarbone against the Stormers a few weeks back.

Saturday’s match at Tafel Lager Park kicks off at 15:00.
