Mapimpi back in SA on Friday─── MORGAN PIEK 10:16 Fri, 14 May 2021
The Springbok World Cup hero, Makazole Mapimpi, will be arriving back in South Africa on Friday.
Mapimpi, who scored one of the tries when the Springboks famously beat England 32-12 in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final, has been plying his trade at the Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan.
The former Cheetahs speedster has, however, not been considered for selection for tomorrow's game against the Bulls in Pretoria.
The Sharks coach, Sean Everitt, confirmed that he will undergo a medical on Monday.
“Makazole arrives back in Durban on Friday evening, so he's not considered for selection this week.
“We'll have to do medicals on him on Monday to see where he's at.
“We also need to look at his playing minutes, and that'll determine whether he plays or not.”
The Bulls and Sharks battle it out on Saturday night with kick-off at Loftus Versfeld at 18:15.
