Cheetahs focus on set piece execution─── MORGAN PIEK 14:42 Wed, 02 Jun 2021
The Toyota Cheetahs will be targeting better execution at lineout time and at the breakdown when they tackle the EP Elephants on Saturday in their second Currie Cup warm-up game.
Last week the Invitational XV who beat the Cheetahs 43-35 in Bloemfontein were better in both facets of the game.
The Invitational team did however have a Cheetahs hooker and lock, which made it easier to target the Cheetahs lineout.
The Cheetahs assistant coach, Izak van der Westhuizen, told OFM Sport that the set piece will be better against EP.
“After the game on Saturday we had a look at the lineouts and it was clear that we weren't one par.
“A lot of the errors, they contested well, we still could have won if our execution was better, so that is definitely something that we are working on.
“Execution wise we were caught lacking and we will definitely be better off on the weekend.”
Saturday’s match at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 12:00.
