It's going to be exciting - Etzebeth─── MORGAN PIEK 08:48 Thu, 09 Sep 2021
The Springboks are eagerly awaiting to get onto the park on Sunday when they are hosted by the Wallabies in the Rugby Championship in the Gold Coast.
The Boks do welcome the return of the seasoned campaigners, Duane Vermeulen and Faf de Klerk, but for the most of the players it will be their first game in front of a crowd since March last year.
The Springboks last capacity game was the famous World Cup final against England in Yokohama on 2 November 2019.
The World Cup-winning lock, Eben Etzebeth, said they can’t wait to feel the buzz of the crowd.
“It's going to be exciting to play in front of a crowd again.
“The guys in South Africa haven't done that for quite a while, but at Toulon I got a taste of it again in the French Top14.
“The atmosphere is always something that adds to the occasion.
“The on-field communication won't be as clear as we're used to, like it was in the British & Irish Lions series or Argentina.
“However, we've all said it's going to be a great experience again. A full stadium going to provide another interesting aspect to the Test match.”
Sunday’s Test at the Cbus Super Stadium kicks off at 12:05.
