Kolbe still doubtful for 100th All Blacks Test─── MORGAN PIEK 08:14 Tue, 21 Sep 2021
The Springbok winger, Cheslin Kolbe, could be unavailable for this weekend’s Rugby Championship clash against the All Blacks in Townsville.
The World Cup winner missed both of the Springboks' defeats against the Wallabies in Queensland over the past two weeks due to a leg injury.
The Boks are expected to make several changes following their latest defeat and there had been suggestions that Kolbe will replace Sbu Nkosi on the wing.
Springbok assistant coach, Deon Davids, confirmed that there is still doubt over Kolbe, but the good news is that the lock Lood de Jager will be available for selection.
“Cheslin Kolbe is still doubtful. He is doing a few exercises, but he is still doubtful for this weekend.
“All the players were able to train. Lood de Jager, who had a concussion injury, is back in training.
“Our players are fit and were on the field training. Only Cheslin is to return to the training stage, so he is busy getting ready.
“All of the broader squad is available for selection this weekend.”
Saturday’s 100th Test between the All Blacks and Springboks kicks off at 9:05. The Springboks will name their side for the Test on Tuesday.
