The Toyota Cheetahs are set to open their 2022 Currie Cup campaign at home in a derby against the Tafel Lager Griquas in Bloemfontein.

According to the provisional fixtures that need to be rubberstamped at SA Rugby's general meeting on 10 December, the Cheetahs will face the Peacock Blues in round one, while enjoying a bye in round 2.

In round three the Cheetahs will travel to Pretoria to tackle the Bulls and Loftus Versfeld and a week later they will be up against the Pumas in Nelspruit.

The Cheetahs will then have back-to-back home games against Lions and Western Province.

These fixtures don't include the possibility of Eastern Province playing in the Premier Division.

Should the team from the Eastern Cape be included, the bye weeks were by used to accommodate their fixtures. This could mean that the Elephants will face the Cheetahs in round two.

The Currie Cup is scheduled to get underway on 15 January with the final to be played on 25 June.
