Cheetahs make changes for Baia Mare─── MORGAN PIEK 13:58 Thu, 25 Nov 2021
The Toyota Cheetahs have made handful of changes to their team for tomorrow night's Toyota Challenge game against Baia Mare in Bloemfontein.
In the front row, Schalk Ferreira, Chucky van der Westhuizen and Hanro Jacobs will all start, while Lohan Potgieter comes into the backrow.
In the backline, Brandon Thomson, starts at flyhalf with Howard Mnisi at centre and Craig Barry as well as Evardi Boshoff playing on the wing.
The Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that Van der Westhuizen deserves a start.
“Wilmar Arnoldi and Marnus van der Merwe more than 80 minutes at hooker. Chucky was playing for Namibia.
“He was on the bench in the first Test and against Zimbabwe he was in the starting line-up.
“I watched the games and he played quite well.
“When we finished the previous Currie Cup he was the number hooker and we felt that it would be appropriate to give him the starting jersey for the game against Baia Mare.”
Tomorrow night's game at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 18:15.
