The Toyota Cheetahs loose-forward, Jeandré Rudolph, is optimistic about making a return to the park next week in the Currie Cup.

The influential player has been side-lined for months due to a serious knee injury.

While the Cheetahs have played just one match in the Currie Cup, they have numerous loosies in good form and Rudolph admits that it won’t be easy earning his jersey back.

Aidon Davis, Mihlali Mosi, and Gideon van der Merwe are all playing well at the moment, while Andisa Ntsila has recovered from his injury, and Marnus van der Merwe has proven to be more than a handful on the side of the scrum.

Rudolph told OFM Sport that he expects to be ready for next week.

“I'm back to full training with the team and the knee is holding up quite well. I will probably be up for selection for the next game.

“The guys who played in the last couple of games at loose-forward played really well, so it's going to be a good challenge to get back into the team.

“But it is something that I look forward to and hopefully I can be back on the field soon.”

Next week Wednesday’s game against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 17:45.
